Fake prophet to face 25 months in prison for impersonation and stealing






A 32-year-old man, Lukman Yaya, who asserted to be a prophet, was on Monday sentenced to 25 months' detainment by an Ota Magistrates 'Court in Ogun.

The senior justice, Mr S. O.Banwo, in his decision did not give the convict any choice of fine.

Yaya, whose address was not uncovered in court, confessed to the two-check charge of pantomime and taking.


Prior, the prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, had told the court that the charged submitted the offenses on Feb. 8 at around 11.30a.m.at Joju Area of Ota, Ogun.

Gbesi said that the charged who put on a show to be a prophet unlawfully got N17,500 from one Aderibigbe Toyosi, with the aim to help her to tackle some of her profoundly issues, an understanding he didn't satisfy.

He likewise said that the blamed stole a cell phone esteemed at N22,500 from the complainant during the time spent helping her to take care of her issues.
