Nigeria’s downside not beyond God – Ambode

Wife of the governor of Lagos State, Bolanle Ambode, has called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for leaders following recent challenges threatening the country.

Ambode’s wife speaking at a special prayer session organized for Lagos and the country at the city Hall, Lagos Island said challenges of Nigeria were not beyond God.

She, therefore, called on Nigerians regardless of faith, tribes to come together in unity and pray for Nigeria.

“Although the country may be facing some challenges like many different countries, it's not beyond divine answer, as God would never shut His ears to the supplication of His children.

“Today, our nation like others is faced  with challenges which are multi-dimensional and also threatening the peaceful co-existence of the various nationalities that frame the entity called Nigeria.

“At a time like this, we want to unite in prayers for divine intervention. we need to pray to God to offer our leaders the wisdom, the strength and also the courageousness to find a long-lasting answer to the challenges facing the nation and the people.

“The nation’s religious diversity, ought to serve to deepen her understanding and strengthen her social bond.

“We should come back to terms with the fact that, it's the will of God that we belong to totally different faiths. what is expected of us is to see ourselves as brothers and sisters and live together in peace, unity and harmony.

“We should show love to each other. we should be tolerant and be our brothers’ keeper. This, i believe is what every religion preaches and which we should try to uphold at all times,” she said.
