Young girl found dead in Cross river, allegedly killed by boyfriend

A girl in her twenties was found dead at Etta Agbor Street, in Calabar Municipal local government area of Cross watercourse State. The stiff was found lined during a wrapper and abandoned on the road aspect.

An eye witness told us that the body was dragged to the position by unknown person yesterday in the night. He alleged that the girl was a victim of rape.

“We were confounded after we saw the body this morning; people round the locality weren't regarding what happened and that we had to depart the surroundings to avoid arrest by the Police.

“The sad thing was that the victim was stabbed to death by unknown person suspected to be her lover in the night. we tend to created spirited efforts to spot the body however it wasn’t possible.

“May be the suspect brought her from far and drop her here but we don’t know her at all. Even girls} and other young ladies couldn't identify her. we've reported the matter to the police.”

When we contacted the Police publicity Officer, Ms Irene Ugbo, she confirmed the incident, but said no one was arrested as investigations continue.

“Yes, i'm aware of the incident but no one has been arrested however investigations continue. However, we've been able to evacuate the body of the victim,” she said.
