IPON Group holds meeting to produce a South-East Igbo President
A political group in south-east known as Igbo Presidency Organization of Nigeria(IPON), held a meeting in Aba, Abia state and passed an appeal to the North and South-West Geopolitical zone in the countryto work together with South-East zone to produce a president come 2019 election.
The meeting which was held in a town hall in Abia State came as a rsult of the former member of House Reps, who was representing Owerri Federal constituency of All progressive Congress (APC) chief Uche Onyeagocha, who on his speech called on the president to appoint an Igbo man as the next Secretary of the Federation, following the marginalization of the Igbo which the Igbo complained of.
The group which stated that they see no possibilities of the dividing the country, said that Nigeria at 57th Independence has not been favorable one to the Igbos in the past years.
In a speech which was tagged "Towards re-awakening of Nigeria. The National chairman IPON Mr Ikechukwu Mgborogwu said that the group has realized thatpower can only be taken and not given and has adopted the globally accepted meansof getting power to the seat of the president of the country by the Igbosreaching out to other sections in the country.
